The only racecourse in County Dublin is Leopardstown, the venue for the big Christmas meeting in Ireland, the Dublin Racing Festival and the first day of Irish Champions Weekend on the flat. It’s a fabulous racecourse with a long drag home from the last seven furlongs which isn’t obvious to the naked eye. It has a wonderful chase track featuring two fences away from the stands and six down the back, a tricky enough second half and a very stiff track both over obstacles and on the Flat. Leopardstown stages a lot of Ireland’s premier races and is an incredible course.
