Alfred Nobel turned in an impressive display under Johnny Murtagh to preserve Aidan O'Brien's remarkable record in the Netjets Railway Stakes at the Curragh. The 6-4 favourite was settled in behind rivals in the early stages of the Group Two contest, but showed a neat turn of foot to quicken to the lead inside the final furlong.Murtagh always appeared confident his mount had matters in hand and the juvenile passed the post a length and a quarter ahead of In Some Respect.O'Brien, who has now won 11 of the last 13 renewals of this six-furlong heat, said: "He progressed from his first run to his second, his second run to his third, and he's come forward again."I'm delighted with that. He was green when he hit the front and leaned away from the crowd. You'd hope he'd get a mile in time."Alfred Nobel was cut for next year's 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, with Boylesports now as low as 14-1.
