Australian speedsters Scenic Blast and Takeover Target warmed up for the Darley July Cup by working together at Newmarket. The pair, winners of Royal Ascot's King's Stand Stakes in 2009 and 2006 respectively, covered five furlongs of the July Course in preparation for the six-furlong showpiece in two weeks' time.Scenic Blast's trainer Danny Morton said: "We were very pleased, it was a nice bit of work with Takeover. He's pulled up really well from that run and hopefully he'll come forward for the next one. I believe he's effective over five and six furlongs."Takeover Target missed his intended run in the Golden Jubilee Stakes at last week's Royal meeting as he had a temperature. However, he cheered his trainer Joe Janiak in the spin."The workout went all right and he's over that setback," said Janiak.
