Luca Cumani is dropping 'Greek Freak' Ialysos down in class for the Coral Charge at Sandown on Saturday following a weak showing at Royal Ascot. After proving so good in his homeland that he outgrew the opposition, Ialysos made a winning start in Britain when coming from behind to take the Achilles Stakes at Haydock. But he was never a danger as he lost his unbeaten record in the Golden Jubilee Stakes.Cumani said: "He goes to Sandown on Saturday. The reason for that is after a poor effort I don't like running them in another Group One race - I'd rather come down a notch and if we can win that we can then go back up in class."The trainer has put forward several reasons for his Ascot eclipse."In the Jubilee there are two things that maybe didn't help," Cumani told At The Races."On Saturday the ground up the stands rail was watered and he is used to racing on fast sand in Greece and he was changing his legs all the time. Also in all his races in Greece he has always had plenty of daylight, and that was the first time he was in a bunch."He doesn't necessarily have to lead as long as he is not in a bunch. He does most of his work on his own and we have to judge him by the feeling he gives his rider."
