Godolphin's Ladbrokes St Leger hope Kite Wood showed his well-being in a six-furlong workout on the Newmarket gallops on Tuesday morning.
The Galileo colt was among a party of horses from Saeed bin Suroor's stable put through their paces. He is being prepared for the Doncaster Classic on September 12 after returning to winning form in the Group Three Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket's July meeting.
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: "He's in very good form and worked well today over six furlongs. The St Leger is his main target and we will give him one more race before Doncaster."
Another of Godolphin's Leger entries, Mastery, is also likely to be given the chance to book his ticket to Doncaster.
The Sulamani colt did, however, return a little stiff after finishing third to Cavalryman in the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp a week ago.
"He's all right but he came back a little bit stiff after the race. There are no problems now and we will find a race for him soon," bin Suroor added.
