Henry Cecil's Apple Charlotte and the Dermot Weld-trained Rare Ransom finished well down the field in Sunday's American Oaks.Cecil's filly weakened into eighth behind Tom Albertrani's Gozzip Girl, while Rare Ransom was 11th under Pat Smullen. The duo proved no match for the impressive winner of the Hollywood Park feature.Always travelling kindly for Kent Desormeaux, Gozzip Girl kicked on along the home stretch to defeat Well Monied by three and a quarter lengths.Albertrani said: "This was her toughest assignment so far. She's done so well, and she seems like she's improving all the time. We're almost thinking about trying her back on the dirt."He added: "She is very versatile. She can win on the lead and come from behind. She looks like she is just getting stronger and improving all the time."
