Strike The Deal secured his first success since landing the 2007 Richmond Stakes with a cosy victory in the Skyros Pony Conditions Stakes at
Lingfield.
Jeremy Noseda's colt failed to make much of an impact during his three-year-old campaign but after two decent efforts in Group company earlier this season, he was sent off at 10-11 to finally regain the winning thread on the all-weather.
Settled nicely by champion jockey Ryan Moore, the son of Van Nistelrooy showed a fine turn of foot in the latter stages to beat off the challenge of Tamagin by a neck.
Noseda said: "It's great to see him win and I don't think he's ever run a bad race in his life. We'll get him home now, speak with the owner and we'll try to make a plan from there."
Moore added: "He was a Group Two winner as a two-year-old and it's hard as a three-year-old. He went to Dubai and ran a great race in their Derby but he didn't stay. He's run two good races this year and this was a good opportunity for him."
Noseda and Moore had earlier teamed up to good effect with Lemon N Sugar, who took the Sorraia Horse Handicap with the minimum of fuss. The 4-5 market leader was settled at the rear early on but picked up well once asked the question to beat Suhayl Star by two and a half lengths.
"She did that well and she was a bit unlucky round Lingfield last time," Noseda continued. "Again we'll get her home, see how she is and take things from there."
Moore went on to complete a treble in the Eriskay Pony Handicap on Ed Dunlop's Last Three Minutes (5-2).
Andrew Balding and William Buick have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and the in-form duo were again on the mark with Celestial Dream in the Exmoor Pony Handicap. The 15-8 market leader was settled in behind rivals but once the gap came she soon hit top gear and she eventually came home a length ahead of Pocket's Pick.
The Kingsclere handler said: "She's obviously improving and she's beautifully bred so it's nice to get that win into her. She quickened up well and we'll just try to find another similar race for her. She should be capable of winning again."
