Last year's St Leger and Breeders' Cup Turf hero Conduit is likely to return to a mile and a half for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.
Sir Michael Stoute's inmate ran a fine race to finish third to Sea The Stars in the Coral-Eclipse over a distance which is probably on the short side for him.
Peter Reynolds, racing manager to owners Ballymacoll Stud, believes there is still plenty to look forward to and said: "We were delighted with his run and we have always said he is a horse who would be at his best later in the season."
Reynolds continued: "He has beaten most of the horses well and was just beaten by two very good horses on the day.
"The King George is the plan at the moment and a mile and a half is probably our optimum distance. We'll take anything on over that trip and we're looking forward now."
