Officials at Ayr hope the track will be given the all-clear for racing to resume on the round course at their next meeting two weeks on Saturday.
The course executive have ordered two surveys to deem whether any work is needed on the track. Should that be the case, then the round course would again be out of bounds for the next fixture.
Racing on Monday was confined to the straight course following a seven-horse pile-up on July 13 when jockey Joe Fanning broke his collarbone.
"As a result of the accident on July 13, given that Chris Dennis of the BHA course inspectorate couldn't find anything wrong with the track, we have commissioned a couple of surveys," said racecourse spokesman Iain Ferguson.
"One is being carried out on the bend and on the camber and another early next week.
"If anything comes out of these surveys that necessitates work on the bend then we would probably run the August 8 meeting on the straight course, but nothing like that has happened yet.
"At the moment it is still our intention to run on the round course on August 8, but if anything comes up in the meantime that we need to do work on the track, on the bend, then we would run on the straight course only.
"There's nothing come up so far that suggests we have to do any work on the track. If it does, obviously we will."
