Angus McNae: my four horse racing tips for Sunday

Our presenter and website regular Angus McNae shares four tips for Sunday's action - including in the £100,000 Listed highlight at Chelmsford - with more racing from Ayr, Sligo and Market Rasen to enjoy live on the channel.

2.00 Sligo: Shajak

I am sure there is better to come from him over hurdles.

Shajak has had two runs for this yard and shaped with a good deal of promise on both occasions while not being given a hard time.

He was rated as high as 95 when last seen on the Flat and, such was his ability on the level, he finished third in a Listed race at Leopardstown last August.

Jack Kennedy takes the ride for the first time here and this maiden hurdle should be well within his grasp.

3.55 Chelmsford: White Moonlight

She landed Listed honours at Musselburgh last time and can follow up here.

White Moonlight races prominently and that is always a good run style here, while it looks as if she may well get a solo out in front. She has previous form at Chelmsford so the surface will be no problem to her and I expect her to bowl along in front dictating her own fractions.

Trainer Saeed Bin Suroor has a 23% strike rate here and he has found a good opportunity for this mare to win again.

4.05 Market Rasen: Rocambolas

I am taking him to oblige under his young rider, who knows what is required.

Rocambolas comes with a bit of a wealth warning as he can pull up in front, like he did when looking sure to win at Worcester three starts ago. The key to him is to produce him as late as possible and jockey Dylan Whelan did that to perfection in victory last time at Southwell.

Rocambolas was cruising on the bridle on his sole course start last month when falling at the tricky third-last and, at worst, he is a back to lay proposition given his cruising speed.

4.50 Ayr: Sparks Fly

Her turn of foot has proved pivotal in recent wins and can be employed to good effect once again by jockey Laura Pearson, who has struck up a good relationship with this filly.

Sparks Fly can lay claim to being one of the most improved fillies around of late. She has won her last five starts, starting off a mark of 59, and struck last time off a mark of 87. She is now rated 93, but given the ease of her success last time there is at least one more win in her.
