The most northern track in the UK, and a real gem in the summer jumping calendar. Because of its location up north, it can often provide nice jumping ground even in the middle of summer which can be refreshing. It’s a very flat track and there are no real hiding places here, so an ability to go the gallop and finish your race are fundamental. The fences can take a bit of jumping, especially up the straight when the pace is on, and the home straight is the longest part of the track. Anyone who’s kicked for home too soon can get mown down late on.
