Vic proves a hit on Knavesmire

Hits Only Vic (16-1) swooped fast and late to come out on top in a thrilling finish to the John Smith's Extra Smooth Silver Cup at York.Ryan Moore and Warringah made most of the running in the Listed contest, and the champion jockey tried to turn the screw halfway up the straight.The only two that could come out of the pack to challenge were Hits Only Vic and Magicalmysterytour. And with three in line approaching the winning post, it was the former who came out on top. Warringah was just a short head away in second, while Magicalmysterytour was another nose back in third.
