Treadwell is to step up to seven furlongs following his creditable effort in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Trainer Jamie Osborne is keen to run the promising youngster over that distance after he finished fifth behind the impressive Canford Cliffs over six furlongs. The son of Footstepsinthesand is set to have one run before reverting to Pattern company in the Group Three Solario Stakes at Sandown on August 22.
"I want to establish the likelihood of seven furlongs being his optimum trip. I'll probably run him in a novice race, maybe at Newmarket on July 31, and if all that went well, I'd run him in the Solario," said Osborne.
"He's a lovely horse. He wasn't quite ready for what we did with him in the first half of the year. We're just giving him a bit of breathing space now and he's developing nicely and I think he's a pretty good horse.
"The Solario has been won by some very good horses in the past, namely Raven's Pass, but it has been won by some less than brilliant ones.
"Where it fits in, there's the York Ebor meeting and a lot of sales races which are attractive to a lot of people for the money, so the Solario can weaken up a little bit.
"At the moment that would be the plan and we'd take it from there. He would have entries in all the decent races."
