Our presenter and website regular Angus McNae has tips for both the Royal Bond and Hatton's Grace on a top-class card at Fairyhouse, the second and final day of their Winter Festival. Enjoy all the action live on Racing TV.
12.25 Fairyhouse: Batman Girac
This French recruit makes his debut for Willie Mullins and it has to be significant that he starts off in a Grade Three contest.
He has not been seen since April when winning a decent contest at Compiegne and, on just his third career startm he is open to plenty of improvement here under the care of the champion trainer.
This is a race which is replete with horses of some potential, but with Mullins having won this last season with Lossiemouth I am taking him to win it again.
1.25 Fairyhouse: Bialystok
At around 10-1 this Willie Mullins trained-gelding is underestimated.
He benefitted for the removal of the hood when running well to be second in a Grade Three novice hurdle last time where, having been briefly outpaced, he rallied strongly all the way to the line.
It is interesting that he is now stepped up into Grade One company - a move that could be predicated on him being on an upward curve now - and he is worth chancing at a decent price.
A class act over hurdles, he seems to be enjoying life over fences and with a clear round here he will surely be hard to beat.
I was very impressed with him on his chasing debut when bolting up at Galway and he looked even better at Tipperary last time, winning by 12 lengths having jumped well and gone with plenty of enthusiasm.
This is a step up in grade, but if this was a hurdles contest he would be odds on and the 3-1 available here makes plenty of sense.
3.10 Fairyhouse: Foxy Girl
This mare can reverse form with Magic Tricks who beat her last time out.
In that race at Down Royal she was poorly placed given how the race developed but she caught the eye when finishing strongly having had to find a way through traffic. She was wearing a hood for the first time there I got the impression that the aim was to get her settled and to finish her race off, but the pace of the race mitigated against her.
She looks to have a solid enough chance here at around 5-1.
