Sevenna had to dig deep following heavy rain to grind out a victory in the Group Three Moet Hennessy Fillies' Stakes at Goodwood.Tom Queally took Henry Cecil's 12-1 shot to the head of affairs two furlongs out after Victoria Montoya had gone on early in the straight in the mile-and-three-quarters contest.Sevenna appeared to tire close home and was all out to hold Cassique Lady by a length and a half, with Victoria Montoya plugging on for third place, another neck behind.Queally said: "She really tried and loves that ground. Our horses are only just beginning to come to themselves and she's no exception. Her guts and determination showed where it mattered."Cecil's assistant, Mike Marshall, added: "This was a big step up, but we knew she would relish the ground and had acted well around here before."She's been improving at home after every run and this was her race."
