Alan King rates Manyriverstocross as an "exciting prospect" for a novice hurdling campaign. The four-year-old won at Glorious Goodwood before finishing sixth in the Ebor, as well as second in the Mallard Stakes at Doncaster last week."Now's the time to send him hurdling, he won't run on the Flat again this season," said King."The handicapper has put him up another 1lb so he is now rated 98. You won't see him for a bit, probably the end of October, and he needs proper good ground, even a little bit of cut."It was quicker than ideal at Doncaster, all season he's been running on it. Jamie Spencer rang me to say he would love to ride him with a bit of cut and I think that is why it takes him a long time to get through the gears as he just minds himself a touch. He's an exciting prospect to have to go jumping."King will also receive The Betchworth Kid from Michael Bell after the Goodwood Cup third runs in France on Arc weekend"I think he goes for the Prix du Cadran and whether he has a short break before he comes to me I'm not sure," added King."I'm looking forward to him, he gets the trip very well, he handles soft ground, he's a nice type and I do like the Tobougg's so he ticks a few boxes."
