A trip to Glorious Goodwood could be on the cards for Som Tala following his all-the-way win in the John Smith's Northumberland Plate.Mick Channon's six-year-old made every yard of the running in the rain-softened ground at Newcastle and his trainer is full of praise for jockey Tony Culhane. "We didn't plan to make it, but Tony has got it dead right and all credit to him, it was a superb piece of jockeyship," Channon told his website."We thought we'd be handy but nobody wanted to go on and Tony's dictated the gallop. They thought our horse didn't have a turn of foot and have ended up playing into our hands."My guess is that as long as he's okay he'll now head for the Goodwood Stakes."
