John Oxx is currently enjoying the best season of his career thanks to the exploits of Sea The Stars but he is eyeing another Classic victory in Sunday's Darley Irish Oaks on Sunday with Beauty O 'Gwaun.
The unbeaten filly scored over seven furlongs on her debut, before landed a Group Three against older horses over 10 furlongs at Naas, and Oxx is hoping the application of first-time blinkers can see her spoil the party for British raiders Sariska and Midday.
"She has a nice pedigree, but obviously there are a few others in the race in the same boat who would love to get in the money. We are probably going to get quite a lot of rain and that would do her chances no harm at all as she goes in the soft," said Oxx.
"She has just been a hard one to assess. On the track she has won her two races but she hasn't ever shown a heck of a lot at home. You just don't know, we aren't getting any real signals off her to tell us how good she is.
"She doesn't show much at home, but when we put the blinkers on her she certainly smartened up and if there is ever a time to use them it is in a Classic.
"Her three-parts brother Millenary (who won the St Leger) wore blinkers so it just might bring out the best in her, there is no point regretting not putting them on after the race.
"She should stay well and if the ground is testing it might come down to a bit of a slog. The first two from Epsom (Sariska and Midday) look well ahead though and the race probably lacks a little strength in depth, but you never now.
"It might be a little greedy thinking we can win this after the year we've had but hope springs eternal doesn't it?"
