Newcastle issue road warning

Officials at Newcastle have warned racegoers to leave plenty of time for their journey to the racecourse on Saturday due to major roadworks in the surrounding area.

The roadworks will begin early on Saturday morning in the Team Valley area, north of the Angel Of The North.

A contraflow system will be in place but this is expected to cause major delays.
