Richard Hannon is confident Big Audio and Lucky General can make their presence felt in the Meydan Superlative Stakes at Newmarket tomorrow.
Big Audio sprang a surprise when winning the Chesham Stakes over this seven furlongs at Royal Ascot, while Lucky General opened his account last month with a six-length success in a Windsor maiden.
"Ryan (Moore) was very impressed with Lucky General, who won very easily. He had shown a lot of promise first time in that hot Newbury maiden won by Arcano, and an extra furlong won't bother him," the trainer told his website.
"Big Audio was certainly crying out for the seventh furlong, though we were a bit surprised he won the Chesham Stakes as we felt the ground at Royal Ascot would be too fast. I am pleased to see rain for him and he, too, is in good order."
Andrew Balding's Lord Zenith won with his head in his chest at Salisbury last month and the trainer is hopeful he can prove up to the task as he steps up in grade.
"It is a big step up, but he did it very nicely last time and looks like he's going to be a very nice horse," said Balding.
"We've always thought he was pretty good and we went to Newbury on his debut sort of half-fancying him, but he was slowly away. He does have a lot of potential, but we'll find out a little bit more about him here."
