Luca Cumani expects an improved performance from Ialysos when he lines up in the Coral Charge at Sandown. The five-year-old was dubbed the 'Greek Freak' after sweeping all before him in his native land and made the perfect start for new connections when scoring in Listed company at Haydock. Well fancied for the Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot subsequently, he could only finish a disappointing 12th of the 14 runners."There might have been excuses for him at Ascot as he was running on watered ground. It was quite lose on top and he was changing his legs very often so he just didn't seem to act on it," said Cumani."You saw the winner from that race (Art Connoisseur) come home splattered in mud so I'm hoping it will be a sounder surface at Sandown. He got a bit crowded as well so we are hoping for a better performance."Tim Easterby saddles rapidly-improving filly Anglezarke, who ran a mighty race to finish third in the King's Stand last time, having previously chased home Ialysos at Haydock."She seems in really good form and I think she should run well. She was always very good and ran a cracking race to finish second in the Flying Childers last season," said Easterby."It is just hard to find a five furlong three-year-old only sprint so you have to take the older horses on which is a shame. She has a good draw and gets a bit of weight but they are creeping closer together."We meet the horse of Luca Cumani's unfavourably but she is very well so we are keeping our fingers crossed. She ran a cracker at Royal Ascot and it should all be right for her. It wouldn't do her any harm to win a Group race - and it would do me a lot of good."
