Britannia Stakes hero Fareer has been ruled out of engagements this weekend with connections electing to give him more time.
Ed Dunlop's three-year-old had been high in ante-post lists for Saturday's Abu Dhabi International Stakes. However, Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Hamdan Al Maktoum, says he will not line up in either that event or the Emirates NBD Cup on the same card, with stablemate Derbaas under consideration for both races.
"Fareer will not run in either of the races he is entered in at Ascot and Derbaas needs decent ground so it depends on the weather for him," said Gold.
"I'm not sure what the plans are for Fareer but Ed just said to me he thought he needed a bit more time, so we'll have to see."
