Enroller is set to step up to two miles for the Goodwood Cup on Thursday week following his demotion to sixth place on his latest start.
William Muir's inmate ran on close home to be fourth past the post in the Princess of Wales's Stakes over a mile and a half at Newmarket, only to lose that position following an stewards' inquiry. That performance on fast ground convinced Muir Enroller will benefit from a more severe test of stamina.
The Hungerford trainer said: "He's great, in fantastic form. I knew the Newmarket race would tell me about his distance. When Martin (Dwyer) came back after we finished fourth in a very good race - though we went back to sixth - he said the ground wasn't a problem. But we want to go further with him."
Muir added: "He said if it was soft ground we could drop back to a mile and a half because it takes the speed out of the other horses.
"We've decided to step up and go for the Goodwood Cup. We'll crack on and go there."
