David Arbuthnot hopes the weather stays dry at Gosforth Park ahead of Desert Sea's run in the John Smith's Northumberland Plate. The six-year-old was a creditable fourth in the Chester Cup on his latest start."He's in the same form as he was before Chester, but I hope the track doesn't get hit by thunderstorms as the ground is the key to him. He has to have it fast," said the Compton trainer."I think he's fine at any trip from one mile six to two miles two. They should go a good pace, which will suit him, and he's well enough drawn, so he must have a sporting chance."Clive Cox is hoping Electrolyser can get over the disadvantage of being drawn on the wide outside in stall 22."He's in good nick, but he's got a pretty wide draw. Hopefully we've got plenty of time to overcome it," said the Lambourn trainer."I'm pretty much hopeful he'll get the trip being stepped up to two miles."The ground at York for him last time (fourth to Furmigadelaguista) was a little bit softer than ideal and I hope he goes there with a solid each-way chance."
