Tom Dascombe heads to Longchamp on Tuesday night with several plausible chances on the Grand Prix de Paris undercard. The Lambourn trainer's main hopes are with two-year-old Barzan in the Listed Prix Roland de Chambure. A maiden winner at Brighton, he was a running-on fifth to Corporal Maddox in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom last time and faces seven rivals headed by the Andre Fabre-trained Colonial and the unbeaten American Nizzy."I think Barzan would have a great chance actually," said Dascombe."He is better than the bare form of his Epsom run and the step up to seven furlongs will suit him down to the ground."Dascombe's Faldal may have a little more on her plate against the likes of Shamikiya as she steps up to a mile and a half for the following Listed race, the Prix de Thiberville. The trainer added: "She came back a bit jarred up after her last run at Goodwood (when seventh of eight to Royal Ascot winner Moneycantbuymelove in the Height of Fashion Stakes)."She's better than that and we're trying a new trip. She should love a mile and a half and love the ground and I think we are going there with realistic chances of picking up some black type."
