Jimmy Frost is making the most of Bryony Frost’s brief return to the UK, having persuaded his daughter to ride for him at
Wincanton on Thursday.
Frost has been a rare visitor since relocating to become retained rider for leading owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede’s French string last year and before riding at
Ascot on Friday, will first head to one of her old local haunts for a quickfire family reunion.
“She’s going to ride a filly for me in the bumper, then go to Ascot on Friday, so she’s got a nice couple of days and because she was riding at Ascot I got her to come back a little earlier for me,” said Frost, who won the Grand National aboard Little Polveir in 1989.

“It’s always great when she can ride for me and it’s nice from a family view when we can all be together and catch up with her. Win, lose or draw it’ll be good fun and we can all spend a bit of time with her.”
Frost provided a memorable moment alongside her father on one of her forays to Britain last season, when guiding Asian Spice to a popular triumph at Exeter on Haldon Gold Cup Day.
Spectators at Wincanton will have to wait till the very end of the card to see Frost in action this time around, when Detroit Bay debuts in the Download The PricedUp App ‘Junior’ National Hunt Flat Race.

But Frost senior is hopeful of a good showing from his newcomer ahead of the VIP visiting jockey heading to Ascot to ride Inner Success for one of her French supporters Mickeal Seror and The Boola Boss for Rebecca Curtis.
“She’s popular with the crowd and I know everyone enjoys seeing her,” continued Frost.
“Detroit Bay seems quite a nice filly so hopefully she does us proud, she certainly shows a bit of foot at home so hopefully she runs well.
“We’ll try to get her back a bit more if we can, but it’ll be great to have her for at least Thursday afternoon.”
