Robin Bastiman believes victory at Chester on Saturday will have done Borderlescott "the world of good" ahead of tougher assignments later on in the summer.
The popular sprinter got off the mark for the season with a one length victory over Captain Gerrard in the Listed City Wall Stakes and stayed overnight in Chester before making the journey back to Bastiman's Wetherby base.
"That will have done him the world of good. He had no penalty for that race and he'll have no penalty for the Group Three (Audi Stakes) at Goodwood next time," said Bastiman.
"I don't think he'll be running in the Stewards' Cup there.
"He'll go for the Nunthorpe then. Let's hope Fleeting Spirit (July Cup winner) will have an off-day! She's a good filly, but he'll run his race.
"The Nunthorpe's back at York, it's his base and he's won there a couple of times. We're looking forward to it, I just hope he stays OK."
