A racing syndicate has joined forces with the Bob Champion Cancer Trust to help raise money for the charity.
The Posh Pundit Racing Club, who, in their words, own “one of the unluckiest horses in training” in the shape of Thank You Ma’am, are donating 50 per cent of every £80 membership bought that is linked to the Trust.
Thank You Ma’am is in training with Georgina Nicholls in Lambourn and runs in the Thames Materials Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at on Saturday looking to break a frustrating sequence, having finished second in his last three races and six times in all. He will be ridden by Nicholls’ daughter, Olive.
Bob Champion recovered from cancer to famously win the 1981 Grand National on Aldanati and established the trust in 1983.
“We are very excited to be partnering with the Posh Pundit Racing Club,” said Champion.

“I have visited Thank You Ma’am in Lambourn and he looks a cracking horse, whilst I know both Georgina and Olive and have great faith in both.
“In this partnership I think we have found a way to increase awareness of the male cancers, raise much needed funds and dare I say have some fun doing so.
“Buy a share in Thank You Ma’am…. You won’t regret it.”
Rupert Adams, who runs the syndicate, said: “We have had an amazing run with six seconds and perhaps Saturday will be our time!
“He must be one of the most unluckiest horses in training, but Georgie never shies from a challenge and has run him in some decent races, and this looks like one again.
“Bob Champion is racing royalty and we could not be happier to have him and his team on board.”
