King's Apostle is likely to bid for more Group One glory in next month's Betfred Sprint Cup following his victory in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.Having finished a slightly unlucky fifth after being hampered in the July Cup, the five-year-old gained compensation in France on Sunday. Trainer Willie Haggas was delighted with that performance and a trip to Haydock on September 5 is now firmly on the agenda."I'm not saying he'd have won the July Cup, but the interference definitely cost him a place so to actually win a Group One, we're thrilled to bits," said Haggas."That should get him a place at stud but I don't think he's finished yet as he has a few more races on his radar this year. The Sprint Cup is where he'll go next but I just need to sit back and speak to his owner about it. We've got an option in Hong Kong and an option at the Breeders' Cup."He doesn't really like soft ground so we've just got to be careful."Haggas looks set to be doubly represented in Haydock's Group One with stablemate High Standing also likely to head to Merseyside.Having swooped late to land the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot, the four-year-old took a step up to Pattern company in his stride in Newbury's Shadwell Stakes."He's entered at the Curragh on Sunday but he's not going there as we're going to give that a swerve and go straight to Haydock," the trainer told At The Races."It's a Group One race so you can't be choosy."
