Racing TV subscribers are already deep into a smashing weekend of action in Ireland and Britain, and the Qipco Guineas Festival began with a flourish on Friday.
As for the QIPCO 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday (4.40), Little Big Bear must have a great chance of providing his red-hot sire, No Nay Never, with a first Classic success, with the trip surely more suited to him than better-fancied stablemate Augustin Rodin.
My nap of last weekend was scratched and duly defied a bizarre drift at Gowran on Wednesday. I hope you stayed loyal.
Here are three to ponder running in Ireland today.
1.35 Naas: Linger For Longer
The campaigning of this horse has been a little unusual (no great surprise as the dam was a staying type) and it may be that trainer Austin Leahy was merely giving her a prep for the season ahead on her Tipperary return, but she has form at the minimum trip and Naas looks likely to suit her much better.
She looks absolutely thrown in. Jamie Powell is fantastic value for his claim and, given she got the better of well-fancied horses rated 79, 72 and 72 on her latest start, rattling home, it would be remarkable if she is not better than a rating of 66 as a sprinter.

2.23 Cork: Roccos Inspiration
A cracking each-way bet as she tends to give her running, the yard is in form and there are serious doubts about the pair with better form in the race. I can't see Dame Rapide getting this trip and Pink In The Park has been frustrating so far over hurdles.
3.20 Naas: Run Ran Run
"He’s not a bad horse," Tommy Stack said after this horse won at The Curragh, "He probably wants the ground better than he’s had it. He travelled well through the race and doesn’t kill himself when he gets to the front. There is a three-year-old handicap at Naas in a few weeks that might suit him.”
This is that very race and the ground is much better, so expect an improved performance in the cheekpieces. He has run well at this venue in the past.
